Dr. Michael Benz is an interventional cardiologist practicing in Hudson County, New Jersey for over 20 years. He holds 7 board certifications including Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Endovascular and Vascular Medicine. Completing his medical degree in his native Hyderabad, India at Osmania Medical College, Dr. Benz then completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Fellowships in Interventional Cardiology (St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center, NY), Structural Heart and Peripheral Vascular Disease (St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL), and Mitra Clip/TAVI (German Heart Institute, Munich, Germany) followed.

Dr. Benz is currently the Medical Director and Staff Cardiologist at Advanced Cardiac Care, LLC. He is the Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Disease at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, while serving as the Medical Director of the TAVR and Structural Heart Program at Jersey City Medical Center.

Beloved by his patients, respected by his colleagues, Dr. Benz takes great pride in providing quality, individualized health care for his patients. With a focus on Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Benz offers cutting edge, minimally invasive procedures to address a myriad of cardiac issues including Aortic Stenosis, Mitral Valve Regurgitation, Coronary Artery Disease, Left Atrial Appendage Closure, and Patent Foramen Ovale.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Benz enjoys travelling and spending time with his family and friends.

Cheryl M. Benz has been the manager and Advance Practice Nurse at Advanced Cardiac Care LLC since 2010, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinic and working alongside Dr. Michael Benz in providing exceptional patient care. With a Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University and the prestigious Ann Penland Award for academic excellence, clinical proficiency, and empathy, Cheryl brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the practice.

Physician Associate Adam Fineman joined Advanced Cardiac Care in April 2021. After growing up in Scotch Plains, NJ, PA Fineman completed his Bachelors of Arts degree in Public Health at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He then completed a Masters of Health Sciences degree at The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Adam then completed the City College of New York/The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education Physician Assistant Program at Harlem Hospital Center. Initially working in a Manhattan-based urgent care, he then spent then next 11 years working in Orthopedic Surgery – Foot/Ankle at both Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and Summit Health in Florham Park, New Jersey, before making the transition to cardiology.

Primarily tasked with caring for Dr. Benz’ inpatients, he is credentialed at Christ Hospital and Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, as well as Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey. PA Fineman takes great pride in caring for his patients and their family members while facilitating communication within each patient’s care team to help achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.

When not practicing medicine, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, hanging out with friends and family, listening to music, and watching sports.
